Prince William and his wife Kate arrived on the Solomon Islands this morning to quite a reception. As soon as they stepped off their plane at Honiara International Airport on Guadalcanal Island, they were greeted by Island warriors performing a traditional dance. The couple received floral leis before boarding an open-top vehicle in the shape of a canoe to venture from the airport into the town. In Honiara, William and Kate first attended a Jubilee Thanksgiving Service at St. Barnabus Cathedral. They then changed into traditional prints to visit at the home of the Governor General of the Solomon Island. Kate had apparently brought a dress to wear to the evening banquet, but decided to don the pink printed frock which was a gift from her hosts. Prince William also said a few words at the meal, thanking everyone for the warm welcome.
William and Kate's Asia Pacific tour continues despite the furor over topless photos of her featured in a French magazine. Apparently, the royals are seeking an injunction to legally prevent any other publications from sharing the images.
